People Manager - Royal Palm Beach FSR

Job Summary

The People Manager is a leadership role responsible for overseeing both training and human resources functions for Royal Palm Beach FSR. This position supports the Executive Director of People in all aspects of employee development, team member engagement, and compliance with HR policies. The People Manager will develop and execute training initiatives, oversee hiring and onboarding, and ensure a positive work culture aligned with the restaurant’s objectives.

Responsibilities

Operations

  • Spend 60% of hours in operations to maintain a connection with team members at Royal Palm Beach.
  • Maintain morning and nighttime availability to assess team culture and training effectiveness.
  • Allocate 20 hours to administrative tasks and 25 hours in Royal Palm Beach operations.
  • Admin hours must be completed around operational hours

Hiring & Onboarding

  • Oversee recruitment and selection processes, including interview training, interviewing, and onboarding new hires.
  • Coordinate monthly RER Orientation, ensuring team members understand company values, purpose, and roadmaps.

Training & Development

  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance employee skills and performance.
  • Track and schedule training programs, ensuring smooth transition from onboarding to full-time work
  • Maintain RER Roadmap documents and Team Depth Chart to track team member development.
  • Facilitate the process for selecting and maintaining a certified training team
  • Ensure the onboarding process occurs for all internal promotions and ensure Food Safety and Harassment training is up to date for all managers

Team Member Engagement

  • Organize and execute team-building activities, events, and recognition programs.
  • Promote and track participation in Team Member Engagement surveys.
  • Oversee scholarship program promotions and ensure application completion.
  • Celebrate team member work anniversaries and birthdays.

Human Resources & Compliance

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations, maintaining an open-door policy.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date employee personnel files.
  • Ensure all restaurant leaders complete Non-Harassment & EEO training within 30 days of promotion and participate in annual refresher courses.

Success Metrics

We know that the Executive Director of People is successfully meeting and exceeding role expectations when the following items are being met:

  • Team Member Engagement Survey completion rate of 80%.
  • Turnover Rate: Less than 75%
  • All employees with 6+ months tenure have completed at least one portion of the RER Roadmap.
  • Each department conducts quarterly engagement events.
  • 100% of eligible team members apply for the Remarkable Futures and RER Scholarships.
  • A minimum of 10 certified trainers at Royal Palm Beach.
  • Compliance with all required training and HR policies.

Requirements

  • Must have Bachelor’s degree or Human Resources certification
  • Must 1 year of Human Resources experience
  • Must have 1 year leadership experience in restaurant or retail
  • Restaurant experience preferred
